"There's so much ego involved in dog fighting, but why? It's not a skill, it's not something you get accolades for. You don't really get anything good out of it, so go find a way to satisfy your ego in a way that doesn't harm animals or other people. And maybe helps some people out instead. You can feed your ego and do good at the same time." - Feb 21, 2010; Essence Magazine

Episode 10 Recap
The finale of “The Michael Vick Project” takes place during the 2009 Christmas season. It’s Michael’s first Christmas with the family in two years and his first Christmas ever with his youngest daughter, London, and Michael is determined to make the most of it. This starts with Michael and Kijafa going out on one of their first dates in Philadelphia. At a local hibachi-style restaurant, Michael and Kijafa laugh and have a good time before talk turns to Kijafa’s desire to have a wedding ring. Michael tells her it must be a surprise and the stage is set.
With both of their extended families in town, everyone heads out to a local soul food restaurant in good spirits. Kijafa’s mother, Joyce Moore, then explains that she and Michael have been planning to give Kijafa a surprise party since before he went to prison, though neither of them ever imagined the party would take place in Kijafa’s hometown of Philadelphia. Michael, Joyce and two of Kijafa’s good friends make last-second arrangements for Kijafa’s party and then Michael heads home to orchestrate the surprise.

Episode 9 Recap
The penultimate episode of “The Michael Vick Project” begins with a flashback to October 2009 when Michael took his little brother Marcus on a tour of Northern Neck Regional Jail in Warsaw, Va., Michael’s first jail. Marcus was appealing a 20-day sentence for a DUI conviction at the time, but Michael’s attempt to scare him straight didn’t work. After failing to complete a court-ordered program, Marcus was ordered to serve jail time.
An interview and candid look at Marcus’ time in jail gives him an opportunity to decide what he wants to do moving forward. His girlfriend and mother of his baby daughter, his brother, his mother and his sister are all very frank about what Marcus needs to do to take care of his family, but only time will tell. While Marcus is awaiting his release, Michael is meeting with someone about the plight of ex-cons re-entering society: the mayor of Philadelphia.

Episode 8 Recap
Michael visits with the man that helped him turn his God-given gifts into a college scholarship and a way out of the projects. That man was his high school coach, Tommy Reamon, Sr.
Coach Reamon was very much a father figure to Michael; so when the two get together, Coach Reamon preaches patience when talking about Michael’s somewhat frustrating role as a backup quarterback. After catching up, the two head out to the practice field to see Coach Reamon’s team; the one Michael worked out with when he was first released from prison. After offering some words of encouragement, Michael took the time to toss the ball around with the kids and brighten their day. As he said goodbye to Coach Reamon, the scene shifts to Atlanta, the former home of Michael the NFL superstar, on the eve of his first game there in three years.

Episode 7 Recap
The seventh installment of “The Michael Vick Project” begins with Michael meeting with legendary businessman and entrepreneur, Kevin Liles. The former CEO of Def Jam Records, Kevin is as active in the community as in the boardroom. Very much wanting to be a prominent businessman and philanthropist himself, Michael is eager to pick his brain. At the meeting, Mr. Liles expresses the importance of Michael’s giving back to his family and friends that have stuck by him, as well as every kid that has looked up to him.
Taking these words to heart, Michael visits with coaches and faculty from a local charter high school that’s been overcoming adversity. After a brief tour of the school, Michael is met by the school’s cheerleading squad in the cafeteria and gives them an impromptu pep talk. After hearing his inspiring words, the girls serenade Michael with an off-the-cuff, “thank you Michael Vick!” cheer.
