Michael Dwayne Vick (born June 26, 1980, in Newport News, Virginia) is a professional American football quarterback. Vick is currently a free agent, though suspended from NFL play. Vick played college football at Virginia Tech. As a quarterback, he was remarkable for both his running and passing abilities. In 1999, he set the NCAA record for passing efficiency by a freshman and won several awards. He placed third in the Heisman Trophy balloting, then also a record for a freshman. Vick Headed to the Panthers?

Could Michael Vick be going to the Carolina Panthers? The Panthers were not interested in him last year and probably will not be interested in him this year. Though the Panthers move to let go starting quarterback Jake Delhomme has people talking again about Michael Vick.

On a talk show this weekend Vick proclaimed Carolina was his top choice to play for. He cited that it was close to home and also would be the start of a new rival playing the Atlanta Falcons twice a year. His former team, Atlanta let Vick go after his trouble with the law.

Michael Vick sat out two years of professional football when he was incarcerated on dog fighting charges. He returned last year when the Philadelphia Eagles picked him up. He was sparingly used in the Eagles offense and is looking for a starting position.
